Following the release of some private information by the Secretary of State’s office, many expect the state to be sued. The South Dakota Secretary of State’s office recently announced a new law had caused an “unintentional disclosure of information.”

A Digital Asset Framework bill, headed by Rep. Dusty Johnson, passed the U.S. House and now heads to the Senate.

Following the claw back of funds from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a focal point of discussion has been the funding for tribal radio stations. Still, support is expected to come in early 2026.

Another round of severe weather leaves behind more damage in northeast South Dakota. The storm moved through the region late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Authorities say gusts of 99 miles per hour were confirmed at the Watertown Regional Airport.
