More than six thousand mailers are being delivered across South Dakota urging residents to register to vote. The organization behind the outreach is targeting the least represented communities in the state.

A hot-button issue in the statehouse and among voters is ESA’s- Education Savings Accounts. The ESA’s use taxpayer money to send students to private schools or support homeschooling, but they now face opposition from what many might consider an unexpected voice.

Visitors may notice something different at the World’s Only Corn Palace -faces plastered on the wall- and the words, “In Mitchell, conservation is tradition. Protect it.”

The Rapid City campus of Black Hills State University is welcoming new leadership this week. Ashley Armstrong takes up her new position as Vice President for Continuing Education and Workforce Development on Thursday.

Jewel Cave National Monument in Custer is shifting its hours for the winter season. The monument saw more than 145,000 visitors last year.
