Secretary of State Monae Johnson said she’s “100% confident” in a voter registration system some have called into question. This comes following a subpoena for her appearance in front of a legislative audit committee.

A gap in South Dakota statute means state departments can’t pay for interpretive services when somebody contests an administrative case. One legislator is looking to change that in light of a recent—and unique—case.

After a long, winding road, the state-sponsored gun range in Meade County is open. Despite some critics questioning its location and state funding, the Pete Lien and Sons range earned support both from the state and the American gun lobby.
