Gov. Larry Rhoden continues to make his pitch that the state’s Future Fund should stay as is. The governor-controlled fund has been controversial in recent years due to questionable expenditures.

With mild weather expected over New Year’s weekend, many people in the Black Hills may be planning a hike or other outdoor excursion. However, public safety officials are warning hikers to use caution as many trails have downed trees from the December windstorm.
