A trip to the Democratic State Convention spurred Tom Cool into running for South Dakota State Auditor, a position being vacated by Republican Steve Barnett. Cool is running against Republican Rich Sattgast in an effort put a Democrat in office.

Cool promises accountability and transparency as the "watchdog" for South Dakota's taxpayers.
