Watch: Title IX, girls' sports, and the potential lawsuits

South Dakota lawmakers are part of a nationwide effort to block transgender girls and women from competing on girls' and women's sports teams. Nine states have passed similar laws. Those for and against the proposal say the same federal statute supports their position.

Tonight, we look at the federal civil rights law at the center of this debate to find out what has and has not been decided. And much of that hinges on the interpretation of Title IX.
