Some big names in politics are campaigning for Kristi Noem as the race for South Dakota governor enters the home stretch.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and former Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard will both stump for Noem Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Youngkin rose in prominence within the GOP after upsetting Democrat Terry McAuliffe last year in the race for governor of Virginia. He’ll join Noem at a rally in downtown Sioux Falls. The event takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown at 3 p.m CT.

Gabbard, who was a Democratic presidential candidate in 2020, recently made headlines for leaving the party to become an Independent. She said the party is now driven by warmongering and so-called “wokeism.”

She’ll join Noem for a rally in Rapid City Wednesday morning. The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. MT at the Holiday Inn Downtown. Gabbard will then attend another Noem rally in Sioux Falls that evening. That rally takes place at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance at 6 p.m. CT.

Noem is seeking a second term as South Dakota governor. She faces Democrat Jamie Smith and Libertarian Tracey Quint in the Nov. 8 election.
