South Dakota Rep. Dusty Johnson said he will vote to expel embattled New York Republican Rep. George Santos.
"Dusty will gladly vote to expel Santos," a spokesperson said in an email.
Santos is already facing 23 federal criminal charges for fabricating parts of his life to get elected.
Earlier this year, Johnson—a Republican—voted against a resolution to expel the congressman. That vote took place before the House Ethics Committee released a report on Santos.
Now, Johnson is joining a cadre of other Republicans who say Santos should no longer be in Congress.
The Ethics Committee found Santos violated federal laws by spending campaign money on personal luxury items, Botox treatments and subscriptions to the adult-content site OnlyFans.
Meanwhile, Santos said he will not seek reelection.
A motion to expel Santos is expected to come up soon.
Santos’ ouster could further jeopardize the GOP’s narrow majority in the US House. It requires a two-thirds vote to expel a house member. If expelled, the move will trigger a special election for the Long Island-based seat.
