In their own words: Eye doctors weigh in on optometry bill

This interview originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

We hear experts and lobbyists debate House Bill 1099 before the Senate Health and Human Services committee.

That bill would expand the educational standards for optometrists.

The state hasn't updated laws related to these standards in more than 30 years. This proposal would provide updates to reflect the changes in coursework, practices and even some non-invasive procedures.
