A group of individuals brandishing the Nazi flag attempted to march at the State Capitol.
On Saturday, the South Dakota highway patrol responded to the unscheduled march, according to a press release from the Department of Public Safety.
The group of protesters did not have a permit to protest, and left without incident.
A similar march occurred in Deadwood later the same evening.
This event comes just days after the 80th anniversary of D-Day during World War II.
Multiple State officials reacted to the unscheduled protest.
Gov. Noem said in a statement “We reject all hatred and Nazis. Full Stop”.
