The House Ag and Natural Resources Committee passes a bill allowing state entities to cooperate with Native tribes’ livestock theft investigations.

It allows the South Dakota State Brand Board to enter any cattle theft investigation on tribal lands.

That’s only if the tribal government authorizes the memorandum.

Proponents called it a “common sense” bill.

SB 170 now heads to the House floor.
