Former USDA Rural Development Director Nikki Gronli is running for Congress. The official campaign announcement is schedule for Wednesday afternoon in Sioux Falls.
Gronli was state director for USDA Rural Development under the Biden administration. More recently, she hosted town halls around the state related to federal funding cuts under the Trump administration.
Gronli is the second Democratic candidate to enter the race for South Dakota’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. South Dakota After School Network executive director Billy Mawhiney is also running as a Democrat. Current Attorney General Marty Jackley is running for House as a Republican.
