President Donald Trump has pardoned the operator of the Skyline Management Group. Joseph Schwartz was convicted of fraud across state lines and into South Dakota.
Schwartz is from New York and is an insurance broker and was the operator of the Skyline Management Group.
According to the US Attorney’s Office of New Jersey the scheme defrauded a total of $38 million.
The fraud includes willfully failing to pay over employment taxes withheld from his employees.
Additionally failing to file an annual financial report with the Department of Labor for those employees 401k benefit plans.
In April, Schwartz was sentenced to 36 months in prison after pleading guilty.
The crimes were connected to Skyline Health, a nursing home which had over a dozen branches in South Dakota.
There is no information in the text of the pardon as to why President Trump issued this clemency.
