Lawmakers kill a resolution asking voters if they want to repeal Medicaid Expansion at the November election.
Those in favor of HJR 5002 argued it would give voters a chance to decide if that’s where they want the state’s budget priorities to be, seeing the growing costs for Medicaid Expansion.
Opponents argued it would reduce healthcare for those who need it and erode public trust because voters passed an amendment to approve Medicaid Expansion in 2022.
HJR 5002 dies on the House Thursday floor after 27 votes in favor to 39 opposed.
