On Call: A Case for Medical Marijuana?

Dr. Rick Holm

Last election, voters in North Dakota passed an initiative legalizing the use of medical marijuana to treat defined debilitating medical conditions, such as cancer, AIDS, hepatitis C, ALS, glaucoma, and epilepsy. A 2016 Pew Research Center polls shows 57% of U.S. adults think marijuana should be legal. Marijuana is currently classified by the federal government as a Schedule I controlled substance, putting it in the same category as heroin and LSD. On Call with the Prairie Doc, featuring Dr. Rick Holm, asks and reflects on the question Is There a Case for Medical Marijuana?
