South Dakota Focus: Active Generations
SDPB1: Thursday, May 31, 8pm (7 MT)
Taped on location at the Center for Active Generations during their annual Coalition on Aging Conference, in front of a studio audience. Experts discuss ways communities can improve their “landscape” to create more age-friendly communities. Most towns across America are suburbanized and research is finding that set-up leads to isolation and depression for the aging.
A movement is taking place across the country to create communities that include living, shopping, healthcare, recreation and education within walking distance. It’s a healthier, happier and more convenient way of living so families and individuals can age in place.
