Meet Spearfish resident Margit Wilcox who turned 104 on Sept. 25, 2025. Margit was born in 1921, in the same decade that Albert Einstein won the Nobel Prize in Physics and radio was becoming a household phenomenon. She grew up on a homestead her father built in Stoneville and graduated from Sturgis High School with honors. She received her certificate to teach grade school and worked as a teacher for 24 years.
Margit now lives at the Edgewood Senior Living community and celebrated her birthday with loved ones at Spearfish Park.
