Won’t you be our neighbor? SDPB is hosting a free family event on Saturday, September 20th, from 10am to 1pm at the Rapid City Public Library (610 Quincy St., Rapid City, SD). The event will feature community building activities, provided in collaboration with Journey On, Early Learner Rapid City, the Rapid City Police Department, South Dakota Statewide Engagement Center, United Way of the Black Hills, Black Hills Reads, and the Rapid City Public Library. Inspired by Fred Rogers and Daniel Tiger, Be My Neighbor Day helps children learn what it means to be a caring neighbor.
Families and neighbors can enjoy hands-on educational activities and resources, make care packages for the community, enjoy songs and story time with Daniel Tiger, catch a Science Steve science demonstration, and meet SDPB’s Buddy.
