Vermillion, SD — Sept. 29, 2025 — South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB) and the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) are proud to announce the renewal of their long-standing partnership to bring South Dakotans comprehensive coverage of high school athletic state championships and All-State fine arts events.

This renewed agreement ensures that viewers statewide will continue to enjoy live and on-demand coverage of events that showcase the talent, dedication, and hard work of South Dakota’s student-athletes and artists. SDPB will produce and broadcast state championship competitions in football, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, track and field, and other sanctioned activities, along with coverage of All-State Chorus & Orchestra, All-State Band, and All-State Jazz Band.

"SDPB is proud to renew our partnership with the SDHSAA, continuing our shared commitment to celebrating and showcasing South Dakota's student-athletes and activities," said Julie Overgaard, Executive Director of SDPB. “We enjoy bringing the stories, spirit, and successes of South Dakota’s students to audiences across the state."

Dan Swartos, Executive Director of the SDHSAA, added, "SDPB and the SDHSAA have been partners for well over two decades, and we are incredibly excited to continue that partnership into the future. The people and programming at SDPB have been, and will continue to be, tremendous partners in SDHSAA state event broadcasts, telling the stories of the kids, coaches, and communities of our great state while highlighting the talents of our youth. The continued ability to provide over the air, free broadcasts of our state events, in addition to the online features available to all, are a service to the SDHSAA member schools and their families."

The new 5-year agreement ensures viewers will continue to receive comprehensive access to the best that South Dakota has to offer, without cost to the viewer. The first televised and streamed events are the SDHSAA Boys and Girls Soccer Championships on Saturday, October 18. This will be the 21st year SDPB has provided coverage of SDHSAA events.

Viewers can watch broadcasts on SDPB Television, stream them live at SDPB.org/Live, and enjoy on-demand replays anytime.
