In the Moment is SDPB’s daily news and arts program.

The state's premiere literary event is underway, and this year, access extends across the globe. South Dakota Humanities Council Executive Director Ann Volin is with us for a look at how readers and writers can connect for this year's virtual South Dakota Festival of Books.

Fifty years ago, National Public Radio launched, fueled early by novice broadcasters who would invent a new sound for public airwaves and change the nature of news, including the roles available to women. Biographer Lisa Napoli joins us to talk about "Susan, Linda, Nina, and Cokie: The Extraordinary Story of the Founding Mothers of NPR."

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra opens its 100th season with the world premiere of Suite South Dakota by renowned South Dakota composer Stephen Yarbrough. We welcome Maestro Delta David Gier and Stephen Yarbrough for a preview.

Layli Long Soldier's first collection Whereas is an award-winning and transformative poetic response to the December 19, 2009, delivery of the Congressional Resolution of Apology to Native Americans. Long Soldier's father is from Pine Ridge. We talk with the poet about her book and the nature of real apologies.
