South Dakota legislators brace for a tight budget

On today's show...

On Tuesday, Gov. Kristi Noem will lay out her state budget proposal before lawmakers and the public. You can watch live on sd.net at 1 p.m. Central Time, noon Mountain Time.

Two state representatives lay out what legislators are listening for.

First, Republican Representative Tony Venhuizen shares what's been going on behind the scenes leading up to the budget address. He talks about the time, work and staff it takes to build a budget for an entire state (1:00 to 8:30).

Then Joe Santos, Ph.D., explores how U.S. domestic policy impacts international trade economics (8:30 to 27:44).
