StoryCorps seeks South Dakota stories

On today's show...

The 2025 Bush Fellows have been announced. The leadership program named two South Dakotans as part of its prestigious cohort.

First, we talk to John Little, Ph.D., the director of Native recruitment and alumni engagement at the University of South Dakota.

He talks about why big-name universities want South Dakota's students and how to invite students back to their home communities after graduation (1:00 to 16:15).

Lori Pourier is also a 2025 Bush Fellow. She is the founder of the First Peoples Fund and works with local artists to build up a West River artistic ecosystem (16:15 to 32:51).

Plus, Storycorps is a national oral history nonprofit that seeks to capture the stories of America. The mobile tour is coming to Sioux Falls this summer.

Site manager Ian Murakami talks about the power of a good conversation and shares some stories he's heard on the road (32:51 to 49:07).
