Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act

On today's show...

The landmark Americans with Disabilities Act became law 35 years ago.

Vicki Stewart lived her whole childhood without access to several everyday spaces. The ADA set her on the path of disability activism.

Stewart is executive director of Employment Disability Resources. Nathan Stallinga, executive director of Dakotabilities, also joins to discuss the work of his nonprofit and the importance of accessibility (1:10-21:40).

Saturday's ADA Festival will celebrate the history and impacts of disability activism. Learn more about the Sioux Falls event.

A three-day acoustic music festival is happening in Montrose this weekend. Festival founder and singer-songwriter Matt Fockler previews some of the sounds coming to the festival's song circles (21:40-48:58).
