The Parkston Trojans (11-0) are set to take on the St. Thomas More Cavaliers (11-1) for the class 11B state football championship on Friday afternoon at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion.
Parkston Head Coach Eric Norden said his team is excited about this game, but he wants his team to remain focused on the game at hand.
“Our team plays “team defense” and “team offense,” we’re going to prepare,” said Norden. “They spread the field well, so we need to execute.”
Coach Norden said St. Thomas More is going to give 100 percent of their energy, so his team needs to be ready.
During the 2014 post-season, Parkston shut out Lead-Deadwood and Canton, while giving up only six points to McCook Central Montrose. St. Thomas More defeated Bennett County, Bon Homme and Groton Area.
These two will clash at the Dakota Dome on Friday afternoon with a 1:30 pm CT kick-off. The game will be televised on SDPB TV, and can also be seen online at sdpb.org/football
