Nebraska Names Mike Riley As New Head Coach

The Nebraska Cornhuskers Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Mike Riley to replace Bo Pelini as the new Head Football Coach. Riley coached Oregon State for 14 total seasons with nine bowl appearances.

The 61-year old Riley has an overall record 93-80 at Oregon State. He also coached in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers from 1999-2001. He also has experience as an assistant Head Coach and defensive backs coach from 2002 with the New Orleans Saints.

Riley is a well respected man, who many believe is a top level coach in the NCAA. He led Oregon State to a 5-7 record in 2014.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
