The South Dakota State University Jackrabbits football team will travel to North Dakota State this Saturday to take on the No. 1 seeded Bison in the second round of the FCS Playoffs.
NDSU comes into this game as the favorite, and as the back-to-back defending National Champions from the 2012 and 2013 seasons. These two teams met during the regular season on November 1st. The Bison were victorious over the Jackrabbits 37-17. The last time South Dakota State defeated NDSU was on Oct. 17, 2009 at Coughlin Alumni Stadium in Brookings, SD with a final score of 28-13. Since then, North Dakota State has won six straight, with one of those coming in the 2012 playoffs.
In a recent interview with KSFY News in Sioux Falls, John Stiegelmeier said he wants his team to surpass the second round, by putting past issues behind them.
“Yes it’s North Dakota State, yes it’s a rival, yes it’s at their place, but we need to go up there and get [past] this second round-go home and pack our pads away [mode],” said coach Stiegelmeier.
He said his team must play with intensity, if they want a chance to win.
This game is in Fargo, ND this Saturday Dec. 6th with a 2:30 pm CT kickoff. The game will be live broadcasted on ESPN 3 or listened to live on the Jackrabbit Radio Network. For more information, visit gojacks.com
