USD Hangs Tough Against Creighton In Omaha

The University of South Dakota Coyote men’s basketball team put on a show on Tuesday night in Omaha, as they took the Bluejays to the limit in double overtime, with Creighton hanging on against USD 91-88.

Tyler Larson hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer of regulation to send the game into overtime. The game was back and forth for another 10-minutes of play, until Creighton finally prevailed.

Even though the Coyotes walked away with a loss, this was a huge game for the program. To hang tough on a national broadcast, and in front of 16,000 road fans, it speaks volumes towards the growth of the program.

In the past five losses for the Coyote men, three have been decided in overtime, and all have been within a 10-point margin.

The Coyotes men’s basketball team has another big game coming up on Saturday December 13 in Sioux Falls at the Sanford Pentagon when they host the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a 7:05 pm tip-off.
