Mt. Vernon, SD native and Minnesota Vikings Linebacker Chad Greenway has been named the Vikings 2014 Community Man of the Year. Each team in the NFL selects a community man of the year, and then on Super Bowl Sunday, one of those men will be given the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
Greenway has been a Minnesota Viking since 2006, and since that time he’s been an active member in community service/foundation work. Some of the organizations he’s helped are Memorial Blood Centers, Sanford Health, University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, Fuel Up To Play 60, The Salvation Army, Taste of the NFL, United Way, and Make-A-Wish.
Greenway is also one of eight finalists for the NFL Sportsmanship award. That will also be determined during the Super Bowl.
