South Dakota State University senior running back Zach Zenner has received an invite to the 2015 NFL Combine. This annual event takes place in February and is in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.

According to Terry Vandrovec with the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls, Zenner is only the second player in Jackrabbit school history to receive an invite to the event. In 1999, SDSU tight end Steve Heiden received an invite.

Zenner has been one of the most prolific players to ever play football at SDSU. Not only did he light it up on the field and in the stat books, but he was elite at the academic level.

During his four years at SDSU, Zenner ran for over 6,500 yards rushing with 61 rushing touchdowns. He’s also the only D1 running back in history to have three consecutive 2,000-yard seasons.

Zenner will be in action on January 17th in the 90th annual East-West Shrine game. The last SDSU player to participate in the Shrine game was wide receiver Dale Moss.

The NFL Combine will begin on February 17th and will conclude on February 23rd. Coverage for both the East-West Shrine game and the NFL Combine can be found on NFL Network.
