Former Milwaukee Bucks point-guard and South Dakota State University grad Nate Wolters, has signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans. In his rookie season with the Bucks, Wolters averaged 7.2 points per game; he played in 58 of the teams 82.

His second year in Milwaukee saw his role with the team diminished, as new Head Coach Jason Kidd, who is a former NBA point-guard, didn't seem to have a spot for him. He only appeared in 11 games with the Bucks this season, averaging only 2.3 points per game.

Wolters was released last week and after clearing the waivers, New Orleans has decided to give the 23-year old a 10-day trial run with the team.

According to NBA.com, Wolters will be wearing the #4 for the Pelicans, and he'll be available tonight when New Orleans plays at the Palace of Auburn Hills against the Detroit Pistons.

Wolters is arguable the best basketball player in South Dakota State history. His success in college led the way for him being the 38th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

It's going to be important for him to make some kind of impact in the next 10 days, which includes just seven games with the team. At that point the New Orleans Pelicans will have to decide to extend a contract with Wolters, or part ways with him.
