USD Standout Signs To Play Professional Basketball In Poland

Former Univeristy of South Dakota Coyote women’s basketball star Nicole Seekamp has signed a contract with AZS PWSZ Gorzow – a professional women’s basketball team in Poland.

During her time at USD, Seekamp scored 2,056 points, which is second all-time in school history. She also finished her collegiate career with 628 assists and 265 steals.

Seekamp announced the news this week in an Instagram post.

Unbelievably blessed to have the opportunity to keep playing at a high level, experience a totally new culture, and have this amazing guy joining me in this journey!!! According to the USD Athletic Department, Seekamp is expected to report to Poland for basketball in September.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
