Chloe Lamb is a senior guard for the Sully Buttes Chargers girls’ basketball team. Last year, her team won the Class B state title, and they're looking to repeat in 2017.

Lamb is a special player, the kind that doesn’t come around very often. Competitiveness is one aspect that separates her from others.

“I don’t even like losing card games,” says Lamb. “If I don’t [do something] to the best of my ability, I don’t really feel satisfied.”

A couple weeks ago, SDPB’s Nate Wek and Josh Kappler took a trip to Sully Buttes high school in Onida, South Dakota. They had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Lamb.

Next season, Lamb will play ball for the University of South Dakota. It just goes to show, a person doesn’t need to look at the big cities to find elite level talent in the Mt. Rushmore state.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
