Tibbetts is a graduate of Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School and the University of South Dakota – he played basketball at both. Today, Tibbetts is still ranked second all-time for the coyotes in career assists with 678.
After college, he was an assistant coach for the University of Sioux Falls (2001-05). Tibbetts later went on to head coach the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2007-2009).
It’s unknown as to what the Atlanta Hawks timetable is for when they want to hire a new coach, but it remains clear that Tibbetts is one of the front runners for the position.
