Northern State University head women’s basketball coach Curt Fredrickson announced his retirement on Tuesday afternoon.
He wraps up a 39-year career with the Wolves, which included a total record of 846 -306.
Throughout his career, Fredrickson won two NAIA National Championships with Northern State.

Along with a long history in basketball, Fredrickson has a strong baseball background in the state as well. He was an amateur baseball player in South Dakota for close to 30-years.
As a pitcher, he held an impressive career record of 256-13. He also impressed with a career batting average of .410 and 277 home runs.
To this day, he is the only amateur baseball player in South Dakota history to have more than 250 wins (pitching) and more than 250 home runs.
Fredrickson is a member of the NSU Hall of Fame, the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame, and the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.
Paula Krueger, the teams associate head coach, will replace Fredrickson and become the fourth head coach in NSU’s women’s basketball history.
