Watertown School District Activities Director Steve Moore is moving on from his current position, to fill the activities director vacancy at Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
The position at Roosevelt High School became available this spring when Casey Meile accepted a job to replaced his dad, Mark Meile, as the new activities director of the Sioux Falls School District.
In an article through the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls, Moore said he’s excited about the opportunity, but he also recognizes that he has a lot to pick up on as well.
“I know they’ve had a lot of success in a lot of areas, and I just wanted to come in and analyze and see how things are going,” said Moore. “I have to get in and meet people and listen. It’s a lot of listening and asking questions.”
Moore spent a total of 22 years in Watertown (1991-2001, 2007-2018). He became the AD of the Watertown School District in 2010, a position he has held until now.
The Sioux Falls School Board still needs to approve Moore’s move, which is expected to take place at the May 29th meeting.
He’ll officially take over his new position at Sioux Falls Roosevelt on July 1, the same day Casey Meile will move to his new role as the AD of the Sioux Falls School District.
