Four Players With South Dakota Ties Now On Minnesota Vikings Roster

On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings signed free agent offensive guard Bryan Witzmann, a graduate of South Dakota State University.

There are now four players with South Dakota ties who are currently on the Vikings 53-man roster.

Riley Reiff, a native from Parkston, Tom Compton, alum of the University of South Dakota, CJ Ham, a graduate of Augustana University in Sioux Falls, and Bryan Witzmann, who played his college ball at SDSU.

Witzmann was signed to help with depth on the offensive line after it was announced Monday that offensive tackle Aviante Collins, who has an elbow/bicep injury, would miss the remainder of the 2018 campaign.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
