Lennox Tops Dakota Valley, Orioles Win 'B' Baseball Title

Lennox baseball team

Lennox high school defeated Dakota Valley on Tuesday evening in Sioux Falls 6-1 to win their first ever state high school baseball championship in Class B. Earlier in the day, Lennox took down Redfield Area, while Dakota Valley knocked off Madison – leading to the evenings championship game.

In an interview with KDLT Sports, Orioles head coach Drew Sweeter said he couldn’t be more proud of what his team accomplished.

“They all bust their butts, they all do what’s asked of them,” said Sweeter. “All of our goals are the same, getting back to the state tournament, go day by day, and we did that. It’s the best feeling in the world. “

Senior Lennox pitcher Camden Wulf put in complete game on the mound Tuesday night, striking out seven Panther batters. He said this is a memory he’ll remember for the rest of his life.

“Every single one of these guys, we’ve been playing together since we were about four years old,” explained Wulf. “There’s nothing better that I could ask for then go out with a state championship with this group of guys. I love every single one of them. “

Brock Anderson of Lennox was awarded the tournament Most Valuable Player award.

Last Saturday, Sioux Falls O’Gorman defeated Mitchell 11-4 to win the Class A state baseball title.
