Mike Daum Signs Summer League Deal With Portland

South Dakota State University star Mike Daum, despite not being drafted in Thursday’s National Basketball Association draft, has signed on to play for the Portland Trailblazers in the NBA Summer League.

Daum recently finished his career with SDSU scoring a grand total of 3,067 points, which is the seventh most in NCAA D1 Men’s Basketball history for a collegiate career.

Portland begins NBA Summer League play on Saturday, July 6th.

Former University of South Dakota stand-out Matt Mooney, who transferred to Texas Tech at the end of the 2018 season, signed a summer league deal with the Atlanta Hawks.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
