2023 State Volleyball Championships, Quarterfinal Results

The 2023 SDHSAA state volleyball championships began Thursday, November 16th from Summit Arena at The Monument in Rapid City.

Day one consisted of the quarterfinal round for all three classes.

Class AA
No. 1 Harrisburg defeated No. 8 Aberdeen Central 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-18
No. 5 O’Gorman defeated No. 4 Watertown 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-22)
No. 2 Sioux Falls Jefferson defeated No. 10 Brandon Valley 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-11)
No. 3 Sioux Falls Washington defeated No. 6 Sioux Falls Lincoln 3-1 (25-13, 25-14, 20-25, 25-18)

Class A
No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian defeated No. 8 Lennox 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-15)
No. 5 Dell Rapids defeated No. 4 Platte-Geddes 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-10, 25-14)
No. 2 Rapid City Christian defeated No. 7 Dakota Valley 3-2 (25-27, 25-22, 13-25, 25-14, 15-11)
No. 3 Miller defeated No. 6 Wagner 3-2 (25-23, 25-18, 11-25, 22-25, 15-12)

Class B
No. 1 Warner defeated No. 8 Gayville-Volin 3-0 (25-23, 25-9, 25-9)
No. 4 Burke defeated No. 5 Wolsey-Wessington 3-2 (19-25, 15-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-11)

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
