Craig Wollman

The 2024 SDHSAA state gymnastics competition will take place at Pierre TF Riggs high school on February 9-10. Gymnastics is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a sanctioned sport in South Dakota this year as well.

Sioux Falls Washington won the very first team state gymnastics championship in 1974. Lolly Forseth, who is a South Dakota Sports Hall of Famer, and is the first ever female athletic director in state history, was the head coach of that year’s squad.

For this year’s event, Friday February 9th will consist of the team competition, while Saturday February 10th will hold the individual side of the meet.
