2025 SDHSAA State Volleyball Tournaments, Quarterfinal Results

The 2025 SDHSAA state volleyball tournaments began from Summit Arena at The Monument in Rapid City on Thursday, November 20, with the quarterfinal round. All three classes under one roof for a volleyball extravaganza.

Class B

Chester defeated Herreid/Selby Area 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-13)

The Flyers were led on offense by Emmerson Eppard and Jacy Wolf, who combined for 21 kills in the match. Lilly Van Hal led Chester in set assists with 19. Van Hal and Wolf also combined for 25 digs on the defensive side of the net. For Herreid/Selby Area, Jordyn Rossow was the top scorer with 11 kills. Katie Allbee recorded 20 set assists in the match as well.

Bennett County defeated Parkston 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21)

The Warriors were led on the attack by Reagan and Peyson O’Neill, who combined for 40 kills. Macy Claussen also contributed with 48 assists. Plenty of players added to the defensive effort in the digs category. Harley Harris had 23 digs, Reagan O’Neill notched 20, and Rylee Hicks recorded 17. Parkston was led offensively by Keeara Oakley who finished the match with 22 kills. Finley Bogenreif had 40 set assists and Oakley also led the team in digs with 18.

Northwestern defeated Gayville-Volin 3-2

The Wildcats were led offensively by Ashley Haven, who recorded 25 kills. Their setter, Ella Boekelheide, notched 43 assists as well on offense. Haven also led the team in digs with 24. Boekelheide was second on the team in digs with 20. Lila Johnson also contributed with 19 digs on the defensive end. Kylee Henjum was the block leader for Northwestern with eight. For Gayville-Volin, Maia Achen had 14 kills, while Paisley Dimmer had 13. Kendra Beeck had 39 assists in the loss. As a team, the Raiders had 135 digs. Jolie Westrum had 32 of them.

Warner defeated Harding County 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-13)

The Monarchs were led by MaKenna Leidholt, who recorded 11 kills. Jaycee Jung also had ten kills for Warner on offense. Reagan Wood had 20 set assists in the match too. Defensively, Jung had 14 digs and two blocks. For Harding County, Kamry Padden led the team with five kills. Mya Glines had seven assists as well. Defensively the Ranchers were led by Macey Wendt with 11 digs. Lexy Rolph also had ten digs for Harding County.

Class A

Dakota Valley defeated Wagner 3-0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-18)

The Panthers were led offensively by Claire Munch, who recorded 14 kills. Samantha Kimbell also had nine kills in the match for Dakota Valley. Madie Munch led the team in assists with 29. Coryn and Samantha Kimbell also combined for 26 digs in the match. Wagner’s Hannah Holzbauer led the Red Raiders with six kills. Braxton Nedved led Wagner in assists with 15.

Hamlin defeated Clark Willow Lake 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-21)

Addelyn Jensen led the Chargers with 15 kills. Issie Steffensen finished with 40 assists and 15 digs on the defensive side. Jaci Trowbridge led Hamlin in the digs category with 18. Also on the defensive side, Kayde Nebel recorded four blocks in the winning effort. For Clark/Willow Lake, it was Shelby Begeman as the top attacker with 14 kills. Zoe Nichols led the Cyclones with 20 assists and Kelsey Hofer had 21 digs.

Dell Rapids defeated Rapid City Christian 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 26-24)

The Quarriers were led by Madelynn Henry on offense. She finished with 21 kills. Tenley Anderson had 32 set assists. Henry also led the team in digs with 10, while Elin Schoenhard recorded four blocks defensively as well for Dell Rapids. Rapid City Christian was led on offense by Chloe Weber, who notched nine kills. Faith King had 14 set assists in the match. May Cllaghan was the leader defensively with ten digs.

Sioux Falls Christian defeated St. Thomas More 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-18)

The Chargers were led on offense by Tavyn Sichmeller, who had 20 kills. Meredith Nelson recorded 39 assists as the setter. The top defender in digs was Jasmine Vander Haar, who had 14 of them. Sichmeller also shined defensively for Sioux Falls Christian with seven blocks. St. Thomas More was led by Leighton Scherr, who tallied 8 kills. Enna Henry led the team in assists with 20. Kaitlin Strain had 11 digs for the Cavaliers too.

Class AA

Harrisburg defeated Mitchell 3-0 (25-8, 25-9, and 25-18)

The Tigers were led on offense by a 19 kill performance from Gabi Zachariasen. Josalyn Samuels had 30 assists as well. Defensively for Harrisburg, Lindsay Langner had nine digs to lead the team. Audrey Miller led Mitchell in kills with five, while Addie Siemsen was the top set assists leader with eight.

Watertown defeated Sioux Falls Lincoln 3-2 (25-21, 25-21, 12-25, 27-25, 15-12)

The Arrows had a few players lead them in attacks. Anna Hirtz (16), Carighan Klatt (11), Siri Bach (11), and Reese Munger (10), combined for 48 of the teams 59 kills. Kynsee Russell had 48 set assists in the win as well. Andi Olson led the defensive efforts with 18 digs. Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Hannah Baron and Camila Langenfield each had 13 kills. Mallory Schneider led the Patriots with 41 assists, while Julia Blom led the team with 18 digs.

Brandon Valley defeated Sioux Falls Washington 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-17)

Abby Gruber led the attack for the Lynx with 12 kills. Logan McGuire tallied 27 assists as well in the offensive effort. McGuire and Mya VanWesten both notched 16 digs defensively, while Ashley Ertelt led the team with four blocks. The Warriors top attacker was Chloe Peterson, who ended with 11 kills. Emily Akkerman led SF Washington with 25 assists. Dana Harpe recorded 19 digs as well for the Warriors in the loss.

O’Gorman defeated Sioux Falls Jefferson 3-0 (25-15, 33-31, 25-16)

The Knights were led by Lauren Venenga, who had 21 kills. Londyn Smith had an impressive 54 assists in the match too. Defensively for O’Gorman it was Katie McKay who had 27 digs to lead the team. Sienna Sabers was the top attacker for Sioux Falls Jefferson with 15 kills. Olivia Wachal had 28 assists and Riley Fodness recorded 17 digs for the Cavaliers too.

Class B
