Governor Dennis Daugaard kicked off the 2014 legislative session with his State of the State Address on Tuesday. Daugaard struck a positive tone saying the state of South Dakota is strong. But, while noting the state's healthy economy, he said additional steps need to be taken to train and attract people to fill the jobs needed to fuel continued economic growth. He also talked about strengthening the state's power to regulate insurance companies and reforming the state's Bank Franchise Tax. The governor joined Dakota Midday host Karl Gehrke to discuss his proposals for the legislature and other issues.
