Several organizations are working to assist people in south central South Dakota still dealing with the effects of a pair of powerful winter storms.

Both the Pine Ridge Reservation and Rosebud Reservation dealt with a days-long blizzard in mid-December. A week later, another major snowstorm accompanied by dangerously cold temperatures hit just days before Christmas.

Many people were stuck in their homes with no electricity. Crews are still working to clear several feet of snow from many roads to reach isolated residents.

Gov. Kristi Noem last week announced a deployment to assist both the Oglala Sioux and Rosebud Sioux tribes, but conditions are still dire for many.

Below is a list of organizations working to help those still struggling in the wake of the storms.
