Update, 8 a.m. April 6: Officials reopened all of Interstate 29 in northeast South Dakota Thursday morning.

While snowfall is letting up, large portions of South Dakota remain under a blizzard warning Wednesday due to strong winds.
The worst conditions are persisting through central and northeast South Dakota, according to the National Weather Service. Some areas are experiencing wind gusts approaching 50 miles per hour.
Interstate 29 from Watertown to the North Dakota border remains closed Wednesday. According to the Department of Transportation, this section will likely remain closed until the wind relents. All of Interstate 90 reopened Wednesday morning. Large stretches of the road were previously closed in the western part of the state.
Gov. Kristi Noem ordered dozens of state offices closed for the second straight day.
The 511 road conditions map shows poor driving conditions across much of the state.
Snow is ending, but gusty winds/blowing snow remain. Travel is difficult or impossible w/possible improving conditions later today or tonight. Check road conditions attempting any travel:
