Big Band Concert and Chocolate Tasting

Big Band Concert and Chocolate Tasting

Dave Martinson's Big Band returns to the Sturgis Community Center stage on Sunday, February 18th, at 2:00pm for our Big Band Concert and Chocolate Event.

Dave Martinson and his Big Band have been performing in the Black Hills since 2016. A variety of music has been performed, including the Duke Ellington arrangement of “The Nutcracker Suite” in December at the Homestake Opera House. The band also recently played New Years Eve at the Seraphim Theater in Rapid City. This group is a true “big band” with 17 instrumentalists and 3 vocalists as part of the group.

This year will be the 5th year that they've played in conjunction with our chocolate tasting. We're planning an afternoon of toe-tapping music and an intermission filled with some yummy chocolate treats, so there's something everyone can be happy about.

When asked what the theme of the afternoon would be, Dave says “Love …. we're all about those love songs!”

Grab someone YOU love (or just grab yourself) and head on down for the afternoon. Admission is $15 per person (that includes both the concert and the goodies). We only accept cash or checks – but there is an ATM in the community center lobby if you need one.
