Track & Field - SDPB State Championship Coverage

Another year is in the books, but it's safe to say 2025 didn't disappoint. It was filled with some fantastic moments at the SDHSAA events. We wanted to share some of SDPB's favorite memories from the year.

Shane Veenhof, a junior from Madison, won the ‘A’ boys 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles on Saturday at the 2025 SDHSAA state track and field meet in Sioux Falls.

Bennett County won their first girls state track championship since 1986 on Saturday from Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls. Scoring a total of 85-points, 70 of those included the sister duo of Reagan and Payson O’Neill. Their brother Rush also won three events of his own.

Craig Mattick's guest on this episode of In Play holds the South Dakota state record with 19 individual gymnastics titles, a mark that has stood for more than 13 years. She is one of only a handful of South Dakota gymnasts to compete at the collegiate level, the former Deuel Cardinal, Samantha Wiekamp Sadler.
