Innovation: Managing Bobcats In South Dakota

SDPB

Assistant professor Rob Lonsinger of the SDSU Department of Natural Resource Management is working on two projects related to managing bobcats in South Dakota in collaboration with South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks.  The first project uses information about bobcats harvested (through trapping or hunting) to identify distinct bobcat populations in the state and to see how they interact with each other.  A second project will use camera surveys, habitat sampling, and occupancy modeling to examine how features in the landscape affect bobcat populations in heavily agricultural eastern South Dakota.

Chris has nearly 30 years of experience in radio broadcasting and production.
