Saikat Basu, Ph.D., is a scientist exploring the commercial applications of his fluid mechanics research at South Dakota State University. That research is changing how companies think about nasal sprays and oral inhalers.

He recently won an almost $100,000 grant to create a digital modeling platform for those medicine delivery systems. The platform would allow pharmaceutical companies to easily figure out which type of spray would best deliver its medicine.
