Cash Wilson Wins Third Straight State Saddle Bronc Title

Wall native Cash Wilson won his third straight state championship in Saddle Bronc riding over the weekend at the South Dakota High School Rodeo Finals in Belle Fourche.

Last year, along with winning the state saddle bronc championship, he also won the national high school title in rodeo’s classic event.

“That was the coolest thing in the world, I was the happiest kid ever” said Cash Wilson. “I was smiling from ear to ear for weeks.”

Those who know Wilson best, say his success is not surprising.

“It’s hard to explain what kind of kid Cash is in one word. I’d say passionate for what he does” explained Wall Athletic Director Lex Heathershaw. “Anything Cash has done in his life he’s done to his full ability.”

Next fall, Wilson will attend the University of Wyoming where he’ll continue his rodeo career at the collegiate level.
