This is a special kid's event to celebrate the centennial of Prentis Park with art, music, swimming and food. Art projects with Michele Mechling, Amy Fill and Martha Minnick take place from 3:00-7:00 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., the awards for the Vermillion Historic Preservation Commission Art and Essay contests will be given. From 4:00-4:45 p.m., singer and children's entertainer, Phil Baker will perform at the Prentis Plunge, sponsored by the National Music Museum. Free swim is available from 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Root beer floats are available. All events are free. These events are further sponsored by the city of Vermillion, the Vermillion Area Arts Council and the Vermillion Historic Preservation Commission with partial funding from the National Park Service, Department of the Interior through the South Dakota State Historic Preservation Office.
